worst experince of my life

When I first moved to Regency towers, I was not worried because I thought most of the stories I heard were exudations. After all, they were so horrific they couldnıt be true. I learned the hard way that an area earns its reputation for a reason.
You can take how the tower handled an asbestos problems as an example. They figured theyıd just not tell contractors about the asbestos to save money when windows were being removed. The asbestos was vacuumed into the air because of this. The towers lost that lawsuit.
This is just the tip of the iceburg. Because of the amount of renters in the apartment, the tower is more concerned about cutting costs than quality of living. This means that just because you pay your bills doesnıt mean you won't lose heat during the colder days of a harsh winter. The towers seemed to develop an attitude of let things go wrong and have insurance pay for it, often at the exspence of the health of the owners. Pipes burst, entire units are destroyed, mail is frequently tampered with and checks are lost, yet all of this seems part of the normal depressing life. The loss of will from most of the owners to fight back is one of the tower's greatest strengths.
The area itself is rather loud. It is next to a hospital and a fire department, but a large percentage of the sirens are from police. This doesn't stop the sound of yelling from the broken cement outside at night or the screams from inside.
A large portion of the tenants lived in the towers for a large portion of their lives. Hartford used to be a nice place, but is rapidly deteriorating into a crime ridden cesspool. This makes the said owners afraid to go outside because of the very real problems of drugs, violent crime, and an insanely high grand theft auto rate. They plague the rest of the tenants with drama in order to fill a void of drama from their daily lives. Most tenants have a look of despair about them, and many, even those who lived in the towers for over a dozen years, are leaving in droves if they have the means. Those who stay are too depressed or poor to leave.
It is not safe to walk the streets at night, and that includes the parking lot itself.
There are a few college students in the tower, but they are being watched with the stereotype of being drug dealers. Some of them are, and were arrested, while the rest still are watched, including ones that have no reason to be.
There is a very large amount of bribery and corruption in the console and with some of the guards. Apparently, this is somehow legal. The last time I was there, there was no regular maintenance crew (they walked out on the management) and the emergency maintance crew did not show up when called. The fire department is compotent and do show immediately when called (which happens more often than it should), but they are the only group that I can associate with the condo who are of any worth.
Living in Regency Towers was by far one of the worst times of my life. It is expensive, the living conditions are horrific, and the area is crime ridden, violent and racist. When I was living there, the area had an avrege of a murder a week. Though this may not seem like much, the community is very small.

Makes it sound like a 3rd world country. I live here and think this review is totally exaggerated and misleading. Is this a joke?

I have been here before to meet with one of the residents. the place smelled like ethnic food. this is a very bad area and not far from the 'harlem-eqsue'area of albany ave which is 100% black and there is a high murder, drug and overall crime rate. when you see the webster bank around the corner has 4ft bulletproof glass and bars on the windows as well as 2 security guards with double guns on their hips you know you are in a bad area.I used to go to the post office a few doors down when I lived on ASSylum ave and would hold my breath that my car would still be there when I got out. overall a depressed area full of bums, gangbangers, crackheads and the unfortunate poor and broken down mules.
Oh, and whoever gave this place 5 stars was obviuosly smoking crack!!!!!!! it is mega mega gross!!
