My family lived in a 2 bedroom at Aspen Highlands for about a year. The overall experience was decent.

Pros:
Close to shopping/downtown - this was awesome. and because it set back from the main road with a stoplight at the intersection the traffic is not unbearable (compared to the Pavillions for example)

New complex - The apartments are nice and new. Central air/heat is nice. Because its new construction the electric bills aren't too high.

Cons:
Its rushed construction. What I mean by this is that it feels like the builders rushed to get the job done and skimped on the details.

Management - I've lived in many apartment complexes and by far this complex has the worst management I've ever experienced. The gal in the office is never there during her posted hours (which are always changing). She seems a bit lazy as well. If you're looking for a friendly management experience look elsewhere. Not to mention they waited until the very last moment to give us our refund back.

Carpets - the one thing that bothered me most about my apartment was the carpets. They were by far the cheapest carpets I've ever lived on. Its almost like they forget to put carpet padding down and the tack strips poke through the carpet and prick your toes/feet/everything. If you have a small child be prepared to get some area rugs. The carpet in the threshold ares is always coming up and again you can get pricked by the tacks everywhere you go. The lack of padding made my feet ache if I was walking on them for extended periods of time causing me to have to wear shoes inside my apartment on regular basis.

Parties - there was more than one very loud party that lasted into the early morning hours keeping my entire family up until about 3 am. The police came more than once while I was living there and management seemed to turn a blind eye.

Summary:
As nice as these apartments it is amazing the company skimped on things such as the carpet/paint/employees. They could really do a lot better if they simply paid attention to the details. If I were you and was considering this apartment complex, I would take a closer look and not get blighted by the high ceilings and modern floorplans.
