Positive Aspect

The apt looks good from outisde.

Negative Aspect

Rules are not same for everyone, they try to cheat as much as possible.
The fixtures are bad.
In Winters you freeze to death even after paying around 200$ for heat.
They threaten to charge for any maintanence call that you make even before understanding the problem.
Don't paint the house or shampoo the carpet when you renew the lease as done by other apartments or any other maintenance for that matter.
They don't have a good clause for you to vacate with 2 months notice or rent.
Charge extra 500$ as a fee to give 2 months notice to vacate starting 2nd year. So that adds 42$ in addition to rent every month every year.
We pay more than the market value as rent.
Manager (-----) is very rude and abuses. One of her comment is that people "live like pigs" and that is why they are charged so much when they vacate.
If you stay near the leasing office, you are policed on the items in the Patio etc.
If you stay away from the leasing office, they don't do any kind of outdoor maintenance.
They don't do the home inspection with you when you vacate so they can charge close to 2000 and above as charges, even for items that were already present and you missed to notice.
They say they don't care on legal charges because it is owned by three lawyers.
There is no good contact number to reach the home office to discuss any issue.
Once you sign the lease, you are bound to loose minimum of 2000 dollars.

I really plan to write to the newspaper so we can understand the tenants rights.

Please go to a place where you get free heat even though the apartments are older. You can have a blissful life.

OMG !!! sounds like I am hearing the same thing about Aspen Management. This has happened to FOUR of my colleagues who vacated from Aspen woods. I am right now residing there and I am totally afraid. God help me...I have advised at least 10 to 15 colleagues of mine NOT to rent in Aspen woods and I am happy that they listened to me... The next step I am going to take is to talk to my Company which has at least 80 to 100 residents there and I will make them shift too. But for sure none of my new colleagues are going to come into Aspen woods. ASPEN woods do not know that my Company employees contribute more than 50% of their revenue....

I know. They don't even have a good mesh to protect you from mosquitoes or flies and would charge you to fix the mesh on the patio door. Most of the house doesn't have the mesh door if you notice. They charge you 100$ for them to fix it. For all you know it would have had problem when you moved in. The maintenance attends the request at their will and not to our convenience. The didn't clear the snow when it snowed badly last year stating cost cutting (our rents were increasing 40$ every year and the rider to give 2months notice to vacate increased as well from 500 to 650$ - adds to rent cost), they had it nice from BBB since group of folks complained. With bad school district and very bad behaviours they are soon to loose lot of existing tenants if they don't do anything about it.

I completely agree with above comments.. One of worst management in USA. I have lived in varios cities in america, i never had this much bad. actually if you loss one blind.. they going to charge for the all remaning blinds aswell. They just do not want to leave the appartment, while leaving they want to earn as much as money as they knows no one will be coming soon... i hope they closes their bussiness soon....
