3 Plus years and you'd have to force me out...

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
I've lived in the Velvet Mill over 3 years. I can't imagine leaving any time soon. I love my apartment, the historic building, the high brick walls. The office staff has a high turnover, but I've always found them efficient. The maintenance staff is friendly and quick.
The layout of the neighborhood (a registered historic district) and some of the architectural features of the buildings might have some downsides that people used to modern residential areas or architecture might not expect. But that's just a reality of living in 100 year old alternate use mill housing. You take the leaky windows with the charms.
I would recommend this complex to someone who has some patience and understanding of history. Even better if you have an appreciation for history - you'll love the buildings.
The only real downside for me has been that some of the dwellers tend to be slobs in the trash rooms/laundry rooms - but that's a problem in all apartment complexes. As are most of the things I've seen in these negative reviews.
