I read all the complaints and frankly, these are problems you find at any complex. Yes, you pay a lot of money in the summer for AC b/c apts. usually don't have state of the art systems. When you live in an apt. building you do hear the other tenants...what's the big surprise' I'm happy there is virtually no crime, that there is a dishwasher and washer/dryer hookups, and at the lovely brick appearance of the complex. I have found that the brick walls actually decrease the amount of sound we hear. Maybe my experience is different b/c there is nobody living above or below me but I've lived in much worse. The only complaint I have is that I live in a townhouse and there is no AC upstairs so I had to buy window units. I love the basement storage and the walking trails right outside my sliding door - perfect for walks with the baby!
