Honestly, here is my experience

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived at the Yarn Mill for a year and don't have complaints about the noise or space of the apartment (I expected those problems). However, I did have problems with Maintenance and Management. It all started from the moment I moved in. It took 3 days to get somebody to change the battery in the smoke detector. (Maybe if it was lower I could have done it myself.)
I had an A/C leak in the middle of a heat wave. It took several days and many phone calls to get somebody to come and see that it was an actual problem, and another 2 weeks to get the problem completely resolved. (They don't necessarily believe that you have a problem.) The carpet was destroyed from the water, and so they propped it against the wall (which was on the way to the bathroom) for a few days to dry it out. They did, however, replace it in the end.
Privacy was an issue. For 9 months our blinds wouldn't close. The apartment was on the first floor and people would walk by and look in. When they did come to see that it was an issue, one of the workers said it was fine. Luckily, there were 2 of them and the other worker agreed that they needed to be replaced. A few weeks later, (and another couple of phone calls) we had new blinds. I had asked Grace to have blinds put over our door. She said that was absolutely out of the question, we had to buy them, but they would install them. They did buy and install blinds above our neighbors door (quite fair to make us pay, which we never did). We had a few weeks that we took to move out. During that time, we were living at our new place, but our stuff was at the mill. They came in, without permission (no notice, or phone call) and installed blinds over our door. (I guess they didn't like the look of our paisley sheet up there.)
If you decide to live here, be prepared to make constant phone calls to get anything done. Forget the move-in sheet. If you notice something is wrong when you move in, just call constantly to get it done. I don't think they even look at the move-in sheet to fix anything. Have patience and a tolerance for dealing with sometimes uncooperative management. Management is a problem moreso than the maintenance. Also, leave your apartment immaculate when you move out, they will give you your entire deposit back.
