Sad but true

We are currently 10 months into a 1 year lease at Yarn mill and I don't think we will be renewing. Everything that you have heard is true. The walls are thin, the maintenace staff barely speaks english, the office staff is professional but under the rule of Grace, who is the rudest and most insincere person I have ever met.
We did all our own minor repairs, running toilet, drippy faucet etc rather than deal with Grace and maint. staff. We have had several major leaks which took days to have fixed. Our initial move in inspection was rejected 3 times by Grace as she said I was being too picky. However, I have no doubt that they will try to charge us for those very things when we move out. All I can say is keep records of everything. Take pictures to prove condition on move in and move out.
You can't beat the size for the money, but it's not worth it. One of our cars was stolen from the parking lot. There are several other people here who have had their vehicles vandalized or broken into.
In closing, we knew what to expect when moving in. We had read these very reviews and felt that we just couldn't pass up the space but it's time to move on. We're good tenants, have been blessed with fairly quiet neighbors and overall, we love our apartment. It's too bad that there is no sense of community here and that the owners/mgmt have no interest in tenant retention or taking pride in this beautiful historic bldg and area.
