Make a better choice...ANY other choice!

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
My husband and I recently moved from the Weaver Mill to the Clocktower Mill. The difference is like night and day. So far, my experience with Clocktower is very good. The staff is friendly, responsive and very visible!
The issues with Weaver include:
Very poor maintenance. The only times I saw the maintenance staff was when they were smoking outside the building. I put in several requests for routine maintenance issues. Most were ignored. Of approximately 8 work orders, one was responded to and repaired although the person making the repairs was using profanity while in my apartment.
Snow removal in the wintertime was grossly inadequate.
The dryers NEVER worked right. We finally discovered that the local laundromat was far less costly and far more effective.
When we moved in, the place was VERY dusty with dirty doorknobs, cabinets, etc. We left it in far better condition than we found it, yet they kept $140.00 of my deposit for cleaning the counters and floors (which, by the way, I had cleaned with bleach before turning in our keys).
During the year we were there, I left many requests for the property manager to contact me...I'm still waiting. (she's probably busy'!')
Whenever I went to the office with a question, the staff was miserably uninformed...the mantra was always "I just work here part time" and "I'll leave a note for Grace". The classic was when I went in to say I needed a parking sticker(which I should have received on day 1) so they wouldn't tow my car. The employee said "oh, we don't tow cars!". Approximately 20 minutes later there was a form letter slipped under my door stating we should be sure to have a parking sticker and that they would tow cars in the winter if there was no parking sticker!!!
The last straw was when there was a noticeable increase in litter and trash in the hallways. Suddenly, there were cigarette butts ground into the carpets in the hallway almost on a daily basis and pizza crusts that were laying there for days. I left a message for Grace (who never seemed to be there when I called or stopped in)to contact me to talk about this. Two weeks later, with no word from her, we started our search for a new place. She has still not returned that call.
Weaver is not the best choice of the mill apartments. Please compare to the Clocktower...you'll be far happier!
