If you are serious enough to do your research before signing a lease, then this is for you. Read through all of the comments on this web site. Nothing is being exagerated. This is really a horrible place to live.
The parking lot, hallways, and surrounding areas are unsafe, and most of the time un-locked, and un-lit.
Your car will get dented! There is no way around it. I have at least 10 new dents on my car within the last year. Hopefully, the dents, and vandalism will be the worst that happens to your car. This will happen to you.
You truly can hear every word in the adjacent apartments. Don't believe me' Go ahead, sign that lease, you will see! Trust me, if you plan to sleep at any point in a 24 hour day, you will be woken up by your neighbors. And you will do the same to your neighbors, not matter how quiet you try to be. I promise.
If you are not woken up by the neighbors, there is a good chance that the matinence dept will wake you up. I cameout of my shower twice to find someone in my hallway. There was no call before they came, even though on SIX occasions I asked that we be called before someone enters the apartment. (This is the landlord's LEGAL obligation). I was also woken from sleep when the next door apartment was having new carpeting installed, at 7:00 AM. Why does Tarragon put quiet hours into the lease if they do not intend to honor those hours themselves'
There are several different times that I have seen multiple police officers at the building, usually for noise complaints or domestic disputes.
The management office is a whole issue in itself. The employees there are sub-standard. They will lie straight to your face and expect you to believe them. When you question something, they feel the need to become argumentative. You will not have a positive relationship with these people.
Should you strike up a conversation with one of these employees, I'm sure you'll hear them complain about their co-workers, bosses, and tenants. I also had the peasure of speaking with an employee who lived in my building. Needless to say, she was moving out because it is such a bad place to live!
Cut your losses now and look elsewhere. If I were you, I would not sign another lease with tarragon, EVER. But then again, if I were you then who would you be' You would already have moved out! This is not a joke, these are all facts, and things that I have experienced. If you want to experiece these things yourself,I would suggest you attend therapy.
