A good deal

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
This was a pretty good place to live. It is close to the highway, much cheaper and bigger than some of the other places in Manchester (Aspen, the Mills), with LOTS of closet space (5 closets in our 2 bedroom!) They don't allow pets but we successfully hid a cat for a year. I only have a few gripes:
1. The washing machines were broken a lot and are located in the scary basements of the buildings.
2. Our parking lot was not very well lit, although the complex seemed safe and I never heard of any crime.
3. My boyfriend and I were charged 2 months security, just because I am young and was just out of college. This, despite making over $80,000 between the two of us, and each of us having excellent references from previous apartments, and good credit.
4. Heat and hot water are included, but the heat seems to come on at arbitrary times. Our hallways were still heated in June when the temps were in the 90s, and we had to call them 2 or 3 times to get it turned down.
Everything else was pretty good, though. I recommend the Oaks and am moving only because we got a house.
