nice place but noisy next to parking lot

(edited 3/7/06) Moved in in the spring of '05. Got a corner unit on the second floor in the front south side of the building, right next to the Velvet Mills parking lot. Was surprised and disappointed with the level of noise generated by the parking lot. Hadn't considered the car alarms and loud stereos/exhaust systems at all hours of the night when I was looking at the place. The apartment itself is roomy with high ceiling. Heat is "included" in rent but you have to pay electric to have the ventilation system operate to distribute the heat in the apartment. In the summer the temperature in the place quickly skyrockets and running the air conditioning to keep it comfortable gets costly fast. I could also occasionally hear the neighbors both above, below, and next door, but I expected that and it isn't a problem as long as they don't like to play music with a lot of bass. I originally put down that I wouldn't recommend this place but have reconsidered and I would recommend it, however, I would recommend ONLY a place on the courtyard sides of the building.
