I'm a college student and I liked the apartment building. I lived in a two bed room apartment with my roommate. The only appliance problem we had was that when we first moved in, the refrigerator broke down and didn't cool anything. When we first reported it, we had one of the maintenance guys took a look at it and didn't due much, probably due to difficulty understanding one another. We let the manager know the next day, and she immediately sent up the other maintenance guy (even though he was busy with something else), and took a look at the fridge and decided to replace it. The next day we had a working fridge in the kitchen. Parking was annoying during the winter since some spots became unavailable since they needed them to put the snow in, so sometimes I was forced to park in the other lot, on the other side of the building. Another thing, I have to agree with the other reviewers on the strong smell in the hallway, most likely curry, which is not the best smell to everyone. Also another thing was a bit annoying was the vacumming of the hallways that occured early in the morning (around 8am), me and my roommate would hear it from our bedrooms occasionally. Other than that, noise level was minimal, at least on the side of the building we lived in. The apartment overall is very attractive, mainly the reason we decided to move in, and also had good space 925 square feet. The price $950/month was pretty expensive, esp since it didn't include heat or hot water, now the price has bumped up $25. The main reason we moved was to get closer to UCONN so the commute wouldn't be so tough. But if you could afford the place and your job/college is nearby, its definately worth considering South Adams.

I have lived at this place for some time as well and I will be honest and say that I am indifferent about the complex. I would like to say that the curry smell is something the complex can't do much about, if you have people cooking indian food you can't really tell them not to becuase you don't like the smell. The price is not competitive though there are other places around that area that have much better accomidations and are the same price.

Honestly, I agree the prices are high (lived here 5 years now) but it is competitive with the other complexes in town. Much cheaper then the mills or anything near the mall.
I have come to detest the smell of curry, it actually makes me nauseous now when I walk down the hall ways. The previous post mentioned you can't tell someone not to cook because you don't like the smell which is a good point...but another good point would be to stop allowing so many smelly ------- to move in.
