Worst place I have ever lived

I moved here from out of state and needed something cheap and short-term, while I searched for a condo to buy. All of the other apartments in the Westlake area were ridiculously priced, so Burgundy seemed like the best choice for a temporary housing solution. In hindsight, it was a big mistake. With all of the money that they scammed from me, combined with the rent I paid, I could have rented a 2BR condo for 4 months.

They charge you a non-refundable carpet and apartment cleaning fee of $250. I paid $575/mo for rent, which is cheap, but did not get much in return. On top of that I lost my $575 deposit, when because I did not notify them with a certified letter that I was moving out when my lease expired (eve though I told the manager when I signed the lease that it was only temporary and when I paid my second to last month's rent, I told them I was leaving). For 4 months, counting fees, my total payments were $3,125, which is like paying $781.25 in rent. Besides getting scammed, the place was drafty, smelled bad, and was way too small to live comfortably, even if most of your belongings are in storage.
