I lived in Chestnut Hill for a couple of years and overall the experience was not good. I thought that living in an apartment complex with a costly rent meant that maintenance issues would be handled in a timely fashion. That is the main reason I didn't rent from a private landlord. I had several a/c issues that went way too long without being fixed. Parking was an issue with visitors parking in my assigned space. Pool was out of commission for a long period of time. Appliances needed repairs on a regular basis.
I found out about a gorgeous condo complex in Meriden just off the highway from a friend. Everything works and along with the pool and amenities, I am very happy. I am now renting from a private landlord that actually cares about the property and it's renters.
