So far, so good

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I'm now nearing the end of 1st year of my tenancy, and adding corrections to the review posted over half a year ago. Contrary to what usually happens, the changes are mostly positive.
Location: 9/10.
The location gives great access to Rt 91, which is a driver's paradise compared to my last place in NJ, plus a number of decent backup roads. Going to Hartford and New Haven is a breeze, and even NYC and Boston are in fair reach.
Shopping: 5/10.
Businesses that I consider vital (foods, Walmart, Sam's Club, The Home Depot and Blockbuster) are within 5 to 15 minutes' driving - close enough, but I'm spoiled by living in NJ. As for malls and various entertainment centers, they could definitely be closer. Another point was taken down for the post office - it is really far, far away.
Landscape: 4/10 --> 5/10.
The common ground is definitely not their salespoint. Dog poo is omnipresent, leaving to wish for more enforcement. The area is not kid friendly - in absence of playground, they are forced to play on the parking lot, which is barely sufficient even for its original purpose. The only pleasant feature is a tiny brook running under my window.
** Since I first posted a review, the dog poo problem has diminished greatly. Even minor enforcement does wonders.
Pricing: 6/10 --> 8/10.
The prices are steep, at least compared to most other complexes around, though after NJ highway robbery they seem almost funny. They might also get flexible if you negotiate, considering the abundance of rental space nearby. Security deposits are decently small. I was also charged a questionable one-time "administrative fee" of 300 bucks, but if it, as promised, takes care of my final cleaning it's money well spent.
** The place has proven so far to be worth ever cent of the rent, even though the latter leaves to wish for lower.
Rental staff: 11/10.
Both girls at the reception are worth their weight in gold for any business that lures them out of this office. They are friendly, professional, helpful, considerate, and not to forget, very good looking.
** When extending, I actually got a flexible rent term AND a discount - can it get any better'
Maintenance: 10/10 --> 11/10.
On a few occasions, I had to request repairs - and some of them due to my own negligence or incapacity. All of them were completed much sooner that I'd expect, at no cost, and without blame or accusations. Snow plowing was being performed with quality I'd be hard pressed to achieve in my own house, and pool is always as clean as surrounding trees allow.
Apartment: 7/10 --> 6/10.
While definitely large enough, the 2bdr/2bath apartment I rent is less than perfectly planned, and sorely lacks in storage space. Insulation quality is below average, but show me a rental where it isn't. Living on the top floor helps a lot, too.
** Ventilation (at summer) and thermal insulation (at winter) are not the top-notch, either - though there are very few rentals that offer better ones.
Overall: 8/10 --> 9/10.
Not perfect, but the vices are omnipresent and the virtues are unique. Definitely a better place to live than many, many others around - assuming you can afford it.
** Certainly the best rental value per your hard earned dollar. I already know a few people who moved from nearby places.
