I would think so many times before I rent an apt in Middletown Ridge

We rented an apartment last fall here and within our first month we realized we made a big mistake. Do not believe average utility numbers that the management gives you before renting. They are low and the actuals are EXTREMELY HIGH!! You could go up to $480 a month (3 bedrooms) and still froze your self. When you walk by a window you can feel the cold breeze. It has such a bad insulation and yet they advertise as energy efficient apartment complex!!!(Bull)

If you use the gym you would notice that there are things that are broken for months but nobody took time to fix it. The water bottles are always empty and how hard to get a refill. These are small things but they are that slow when it comes to important stuff that are broken in your home too... It takes months to fix a broken dishwasher.

During the winter they do not take care of the area very well. It is always and always icy. I actually had an accident and hit a parked car because of the ice. We pay about $2000 and up and in return we get very inefficient maintenance service.

I do not think it is a very safe and secure apartment complex.. This year I got 2 letters on my door that there were numerous complaints about car break ins. This may not be the management's fault but be aware!!! I got 2 different letters in different times about those break ins. Always and always lock your doors!!! We always do lock our doors but still when you pay good amount of money for rent you want a piece of mind.

If you have to rent from Middletown Ridge, make sure you choose the top floor!! Otherwise you will hear your neighbors ALL the time. I do live on the top floor but my unit literally shakes when my neighbor walks in his-her unit. When someone closes the door, stuff sometimes fall off from my china cabinet.. It is that bad.

There are also good things like the pool and neighbors. (At least the neighbors in my building are nice.) I think the pool is clean and a family can really enjoy it. Kids would love it. The other good thing is they vacuum the building almost everyday. Every time I leave my apt for work, I ran into the guy that cleans the bldg,. But the smell, that I can not get rid off!!! It is the price of living in an apt, you have to smell your neighbors dogs, cats, different food whether you like it or not...It is not the management s fault. You will find that every apartment complex.

But just for pool and punctual building vacuuming would never ever justify $2000 and up (rent extreme high utilities) monthly. I do regret that I rent from here. I am month to month now and I want to leave as soon as possible...

My company is relocating me to another state in a month!! What other option do I have? Go extend my lease for another 6 months here or get an apt in another complex and then pay bunch of fees because I have to move, or get the option month to month?
