Allow me to provide an update for prospective renters since it's been almost a year since the last review. This place hasn't changed a bit, fake smiles and false promises before you become a tenant, but after.....they gotcha! The first advice I would give anybody is to COMPLETELY AVOID THIS AND ALL AIMCO PROPERTIES! The office staff is not willing to listen or work with you once you become a tenant. After you sign that lease they can care less about you. Dog feces, pot holes galore, the place is falling apart. Good luck living here in the winter! If you can make it up Westlake without a car sliding towards you out of control! West Lake area is a disaster in the wintertime! Northwoods has horrible draining leaving ice all over the lots in the morning, and walkways aren't shoveled in a prompt manner at all, you'll have to dig yourself out! Parking is horrible. The apartments on the inside aren't too bad, and it's quite quiet and cozy, but waaaaay overpriced. It's a shame that this property is run by such an awful corporation. Of course you have a set rate for rent when you sign the lease, but 3 months later...suprise! Water, sewage, and even a misc. charge that I asked about and was told by one of the staff members that they didn't know what it was for exactly, but everyone has to pay it. Run like a mafia and very distressing. Our lease is up in a few months and we're packing our things and getting the hell outta here, we regret even finding out about Northwoods in the first place! Well, it was a great learning experience I guess, but for crying out loud, if your thinking about walking into that lease office, save yourself 12 months of turmoil and TURN AROUND!

This is an old post! The new managment company is wonderful! Madison is the new company, and they fixed all the potholes, painted the buildings, and even hired new landscapers. They always have the parking lots and walkways shoveled so for you residents who were here a year ago, I feel sorry for you. For all of us new residents, we love it!! This place is beautiful with a really friendly staff! I don't ever want to leave!!!
