I have been living in Northwoods for almost a year now, and it just seems to get worse. The deck and apartments are nice, but overpriced. They don't tell you when you sign the lease that you are responsible for every single utility, including water and sewage. They mess up the rent a lot and overcharge you, and then try to charge you late fees on charges you don't really owe. The parking is pretty bad, as is the condition of the roads, especially in winter.
But what I would have to say is the worse is that for the last few months cars have been being broken into on a regular basis. Northwoods' only attempt at addressing this issue was to send out a flyer warning us that cars are being broken into. An apartment building charging over 1000 for a 1-BR apartment can't afford to hire a security guard to watch the cars at night! my car was broken into twice and my boyfriend's once, and everything stolen. Northwoods claims it is not their responsibility and directs you to the Middletown police, and nothing happens. They don't even care enough about their tenants to have some sort of security, which almost every place I have ever lived in, certainly anywhere close to being this expensive, has always had.
also, staff are not very helpful with anything once you have signed the lease

Hmm, this is obvi an old post. Since we've had the new management company, all the parking lots are fixed, and there IS a security patrol just in case. And of course you have to pay for your own utilities, silly. :)
