Could be worse...not sad to leave though.

I have been a resident here since April of 2008. My lease expires soon, and I can't say I'm sad to be leaving. I really liked my apartment, a studio with a loft, but honestly I am looking forward to moving out. Not because of anything that matters, really, but because of the neighbors.
---Office and Maintenance: Very nice, very helpful. The leasing agent who took me on the tour (and is the actual agent) was very nice and understanding, and quite helpful with what's needed. The regional representative or whoever that had me sign paperwork was very curt (almost rude) and as if I was wasting her time. She was the previous leasing agent here, before the current one. I only have called maintenance once, late at night on Sunday, but it was fixed by the time I came home from work the next day. The only thing is that it's a little bit on the expensive side for what it is.
---Parking, Grounds, Laundry: I live in the first building on the left. There's always ample parking, but I hear it's not the case if you live towards the back. The grounds are fine, and the pool isn't bad when it's open, but you do have to deal with lots of kids. There are community laundry units, which can get expensive and also be kind of inconvenient when people aren't courteous about leaving loads in machines. My car was broken into in the parking lot.
---Building: They were obviously built quickly. My walls are hollow (read: no wood behind the plaster aside from beams where it was absolutely necessary), so sound echoes and things vibrate sometimes. It's could have been better insulated, heat goes right out the window. Fixtures are old and outdated, and in my case, light switches control specific outlets and it makes it difficult to arrange the room the way I want. The parking lot lights, hallway lights, and foyer lights have broken several times for weeks at a time. They're currently broken, but maintenance finally set up giant flood lights till it's fixed.
---Noise: There's no way to really gauge who you'll live near, but because the buildings don't have any sort of sound reduction, the month I moved in, the girl below me wrote me a note saying she could hear me walking, so could I please be quieter. Also, sound travels straight through everything in this building, so I can hear her coughing, I can hear the guy two doors down on the other side of the hall listening to music, and I can hear the traffic on Westlake Drive as if I were standing outside. The girl below me has since complained twice more, about loud music with bass, without merit as I don't have a sound system, and this last time I was out of town for the weekend she was complaining about. It's an apartment with really thin walls. If you want it to be quiet at 9pm, this isn't the place for you.
---Bottom line: it's not terrible. It could be worse, but I have seen more people move out than in. There are several empty apartments (around said noise freak) and I'm going to guess they'll stay that way.

Your thoughts are correct. My car was broken into and the noise OMG its horrible. needless to say Ridgefield is taking me to small claims court next friday for damge to their thin walls that even if you walk and scrape your shoulder on them it makes a black mark on the wall. they want over 1000 in damages i couldnt believe it when i got the notice. but hey live and learn. I thnk this is one of the worst in the area.

Yes, this place is horrible. Paper thin walls. No sprayer in kitchen sinks. Laundry is a rip off! Plus, they are dirty and stink. Pool is like Romper Room Day Care. All Indian people there. Office is mean. I was there for 3 years, why... close to work only....Get a house!!!!!! Don't go here...Wow, it is bad!
