I enjoyed my time at Avalon Milford just fine

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I just moved out of Avalon Milford in May 2008, lived there for 2 years. I actually really liked living there and never found it to be loud or annoying as some did. I rented a carport for about 3/4 of my time there, but there was always parking for friends or my boyfriend, so parking was never a problem that I noticed. The pool and workout rooms were nice. Having Connecticut Stone next door was sometimes annoying though. The main maitenence guy lived in my building, who was really helpful and getting things fixed was never a problem. The staff was good for the most-part. Priscilla was awesome, but she left anyway. Always felt safe and well kept. The only thing I really had a problem with was getting letters about needing to pay for my "pet" which I never had. Everyone else did though, so they were probably paranoid that I had a pet, too. That was irritating. The biggest issue I had was trying to get my deposit back. I seriously left that place in the 95% of the condition it was in when I moved in. There was even a situation where not all of the kitchen cabinets were cleaned (cigarette butts and so much dirt!) when I moved in, so I'm going out on a limb to say that I even left it in better shape then when I moved in. Got 50% of my deposit back initially and after contacting corporate to complain I finally got 1/2 of what was missing, for a total of 75% of what I paid. This to me is rediculous. There's no reason at all that I should not have gotten back at least 90% of what I paid. So while living there was nice, leaving there was not a pleasant experience and I did not look into an Avalon in Stamford because of that when I moved to be closer to Greenwich.
