Decent Apartment, Unsafe Area!

The apartments themselves are decent, with the exception being the thin walls, floors, and ceilings. People walking upstairs sound like elephants are having a party. And the hot water heater only contains 10-15 minutes worth of hot water, not fun if more than one person lives there. Other than that, the place is well-kept, staff is friendly.
With the few exceptions I listed above, this place is quiet, almost too quiet. You can practically see the tumbleweed blowing through the hallways at any time during the day or night. So, if you?re looking for an apt. in hopes of improving your social life, this is not the place.
Now about the area. There are tons of apartments on this street, and very high rates of theft (trust me, your car insurance rates will reflect this - get a quote before moving). I found out personally when someone broke into my 12 year old car to steal a stereo with a cassette deck (not even a CD player). The break-in caused over one thousand dollars worth of damage. After I reported the incident, I found out that another tenant's vehicle was also broken into that same night. The parking lots are supposed to be well-lit, but over 50% of the lights are burned out. Coupled with an utter lack of a police prescence, I really can?t recommend this place any longer if you value safety. It?s sad because it?s a nice place overall, but is the victim of a poor (and unsafe) location.
