Be careful about the holding fee you pay them.

I applied for an apartment 3 months prior to the date I was planning to move in. My concerns rose when I read the point of views of former residences in this website. Finally I decided to cancel my application in Pebblebrook. There was 2 months left to the date I planned to move in and no apartment was assigned to my application. No apartment was held for me. When I canceled my application I asked about the holding fee I was charged, but the kind of response I got assured me that I was right about my decision regarding canceling my application. The management told me they couldn?t return the money back because it is against their policy! I was surprising because this was not what I was told when I paid the money. After reading so many complains in this website I guess this attitude was not surprising at all. The 100 dollars holding fee is not an issue and I am not worrier about the money at all. The only thing that bothers me is the words they couldn't keep and the promise they broke shamelessly. I am thanking the people that opened my eyes by writing here before I go deeper to the trouble of suffering of breaking bigger promises.
