my roommates and I are considering leasing a 2 bdrm apt here -- we are in our mid 20s and are grad students doing internships so on a budget -- concerns are safety and cleanliness -- also would like friendly neighbors -- is this a match for us or do you have a better suggestion?

This is a very safe place to live. You should have no concerns there. As far as cleanliness... it could be better. I'm 25 and living here on a tight budget myself and you really have to keep in mind that you are getting what you pay for. Unfortunately, apartment prices in the area are ridiculously high and Pebblebrook is one of the cheaper places to live. The apartment has some bad finishes such as floor radiators, cheap kitchen and bathroom linoleum flooring, popcorn ceiling, and horrible AC units. BUT if you are modest and don't mind roughing it while you are on a tight budget, it's liveable. The absolute biggest warning I have is that the summers are VERY hot and the apartments have absolutely NO air circulation. I don't recommend living on the top floor... All in all safety and cleanliness are ok.

$1090.00 is cheap???? Now with the new owners hope they remodle with no rent increase, and remodle apartment with residents still living in them. How about a break for the residents now and not always for the newest resident. The "old" tenent gets pushed to the back.
