Top quality building, generally very nice and accommodating staff and great location make this the high end choice for New Haven. However the tenant mix has noticeably changed - fewer professionals and more students - with resulting increase in noise and general wear and tear. There's now much less distinction between The Eli and some other NH apartments - e.g. Strauss-Adler - except for the premium rents The Eli charges.
