The only thing that makes sense is to compare this with other "luxury" (expensive) apartments in the city.
I have lived in this one and in Audubon Court.
This one is better in every respect except parking.
The building itself is a New Haven architectural landmark--and deservedly so.
The material infrastructure is remarkably sound and trustworthy.
The apartments are very well appointed.
The heating/cooling system is quiet and efficient, and not excessively expensive.
It is easy to maintain a steady 78 degrees, summer and winter, with reasonably even distribution of temperatures over the rooms.
The staff is truly wonderful.
The office ("Erika") is helpful, polite, and efficient.
The weekday night-concierge ("Julio") is one of those marvelously over-qualified immigrants who so often land in jobs that bear no relationship to their real qualification.
The rooftop terrace has great views, and the basement gym has a large number of world-class machines.
(What I do not pay for an outside gym almost makes up for what I pay for parking behind the building.)
The parking lot is not owned by the building, so it is an extra cost.
The spaces are tight, and flooding is a problem.
But the man who runs it (another immigrant, of course) is bright and courteous.
All in all, the best available solution in town.
