Reasonably good although not without its problems

I have tried two separate apartments in the New Haven Towers over the past few years of living in New Haven, and I've found varying differences in the apartments and the buildings. There are 3 towers that vary by price, Crown Towers being the most expensive, followed by Crown Court and finally Madison Towers. The doormen in Crown Towers are very nice, and the super is helpful and fairly quick on repairs. The doormen and management office in Madison Towers is ATROCIOUS. The building Manager will be completely useless if you happen to have a problem, and this is an opinion I have had reinforced by several residents and even some of the maintenance staff. The doormen each have varying problems of being rude, hearing impaired, or just unhelpful and uninterested. Besides receiving packages (and even this is often a problem) don't expect to get any assistance from them. The super, however, is very friendly and helpful.
I have only had one problem with safety within the building, but the management made jokes about it when I complained and attributed it to my imagination rather than taking complaints seriously. So I would not recommend the building if you place priority on responsive and helpful management.
Additionally, the two men who work in the leasing office are the WORSE. If you decide to live in these buildings, just try to survive the rental process. After you live here you won't have to deal with them except for renewals.
The apartments themselves have been spacious, bright, and with tons of closet space. They are older and have kitchens and bathrooms that leave much to be desired, but the large windows and balconies make up for the older facilities. I have only heard my neighbors a few times, and my largest complaint has been finding mice and cockroaches in the building. This seems to be a universal problem, however, since my neighbors have told me that they too have seen mice on several different floors and apartments, and there are signs in the garbage chutes asking people to take care to close garbage bags well.
