I just read some of the positive reviews for the towers and I can't believe they are living in the same place. I have been in Crown for almost 6 months and it has been horrible. 1) The elevators are broken 25% of the time and no one bothers to post messages about this. Instead, people have to wait 10 minutes thinking the elevator will eventually come but it doesn't. 2) On some of the coldest days in CT, the heat will only blow cold air. 3) The manager of the apartments is a prick. If you have a complaint, he will come up with all the excuses in the world before apologizing and agreeing to fix it. 4) The apartments are very old and things are falling apart. The tiles in our apartment were damaged due to the "humidity" and it took 2-3 weeks to get them fixed. 5) When there is a problem throughout the apartment complex (e.g., the heating needs to be turned off), management will post a vague notice in the elevator saying there is an issue without letting tenants know when, or even approximately when, the problem will be fixed. 6) The walls are very thin, so if you get stuck with noisy neighbors, don't plan on lots of peace and quiet time in your apartment. Our neighbor not only likes to listen to his music loudly but loves to do it in the wee hours of the morning.

There aren't many choices for Yale students in downtown New Haven, but if you can find another available apartment, it would be wise to go with that and avoid NH Towers altogether.
