Couldn't Ask For More

I've been living in Temple Sq for just over 3 months now, and I love it even more than I expected to. The building is great to begin with - gym inside with everything you need, the best parking in town, and apartments with great space, light, and fixtures. Just looking at the apartments, it is by far the best thing in New Haven (and I definitely shopped around).

After having lived here for a few months, however, I am particularly impressed by the maintenance and management of Temple Sq. The building manager accepts packages and makes sure that everything is up to date at all times. She is better than any doorman I ever had in 7 years living in NYC. Full-time maintenance (in addition to in-house manager) means that the hallways are always clean and vacuumed, the windows sparkle, and the slightest concern with an apartment is fixed before you know it.

There are a lot of apartments that look pretty on a walk-through. This one gets better and better when you live here. I can't think of any criticisms of the building and upkeep at all! I'll be sad to leave when I do.

UPDATE 9\23\2008 - There was actually a fire in this building, on my floor. While damage from the fire was localized to one apartment (the resident who started a kitchen fire in the middle of the night), there was water damage to some of the floors.

Once again, the apartment staff has handled this situation with grace and swiftness. I was away on business during this incident, and the managers (rightfully so) took the liberty of going into my apartment, setting up commercial floor dryers, and getting my apartment professionally cleaned. By the time I came home, the place was better than when I left. No residual damages and constant checkups from the staff make me once again thrilled to live here.
