A Mixed Bag

I have lived here for approximately 2.5 years. I chose the complex because of the convenient location, in unit washer and drier, and parking. I still LOVE all of the above. My physical apartment is bright, cheery and in great repair.

However, I should have seen early on that the management office is run VERY poorly. When I arrived at my first appointment to view apartments, they informed me that they needed 24 hours notice to give their tenants. Ummm...I had made the appointment a WEEK prior and clearly stated that I wished to VIEW apartments. I also confirmed the appointment before arriving from out of state! I had to drive back a week later to actually see any apartments.

Since then, I have found the Leasing Manager to be curteous, but the front office help to be of little to no assistance. There is simply no communication between the desks in the front of the office and the rear. My experience with the office staff has been bad enough that I always remark on it to perspective renters. For example, there was a malfunction and multiple key cards in my building were de-activated. I know of a few tenants who were not able to get into their building or get their car out of the garage. They were told that the problem could not be resolved until the computer was fixed...which is understandable. However, these tenants had to stand outside on the streets of New Haven to wait for someone to come/go from their building to get home, and could only leave the parking garage when someone was on duty! This went on for days, and the leasing manager had not even been told!

The mainenance staff is great. They have always curteous and quick to respond.

I never had a problem with noise until recently. Some neighbors moved in with (apparently) a quite impressive surround sound system. I would complain if it weren't for the screaming/throwing things fights that the couple gets into in the middle of the night. I think I'll stay out of that situation.

Rumour has it that they are ordering new gym equipment. Hopefully that is true. Things are often broken by careless tenants. Hopefully this will cease when they install the video monitoring system there.
