I lived at Highland for about 3 years. Overall, it was about average. Tennant service sucks, though.
The building is old and the above floor bath tub would leak all the time, leaking into my bathroom, ruining the ceiling/walls..mold ect. Twice they came in to (fix) the problem, but all they did is just scrape and re-paint, not solve the real problem. I called several times about the problem and they said it is leaking due to the above tennant not using an additional curtain (1 on each side) when taking showers. I visited the above tennant(s) a few times and explained the problem. I was assured they have been using 2 curtains and that the landlord never mentioned the situation, at all. It continued happening and I talked with the above tennant about it further. I went into the bathroom and noticed that the tub could use a lot of caulck, which was 90% of the problem to begin with. After no call back from Peppertree (landlord) I went to the depot and bought caulck, fixed the problem in 5 minutes.
Now to my more recent issue with them. I left on 10/31, left the place like when I moved in, nothing damaged and gave plenty of notice, ect. I was told I would have my $300 security check within 30 days. Well, now it is 1/11 and I still don't have my check. I have been given a total run around for over 2 months now. I have heard excuses like, the lady that handles that had a baby, the lady quit, the head guy is on vacation and can't sign the checks until he gets back from vacation. Basically, they don't give a crap, especially if you moved out. No one will take responsibility for the situation. This is one of the worst situations I have been involved with as far as business goes.
