Worst place I've ever lived in

I have been living here for a year and a half and I absolutely HATE it. Quiet time begins at 8, but the maintenance people have no problems banging around at 7. No one is told when they will be painting, so the whole apartment building smells like paint. I am a smoker, and have no problems smoking outside. Well, people apparently are allowed to smoke in their apartments, so now our apartment smells like smoke. When we first moved in here, the lock on the front door was broken. The guy came and fixed it, sort of. It was all twisted and cocked to the side, it was a terrible job. The elevator was broken for an entire month. Lights in the hallways could be out for months, as well. There is noise ALL THE TIME. I can never get any peace. You hear people stomping around above you, below, and next to you. The elevator and stairway next to it are especcially noisy. I don't know who came up with the layout of this place, but they decided to put the bedroom next to the fire escape...hope you aren't a light sleeper! The place always smells terrible, like a dirty hotel. We live across the street from a halfway house and my car has been broken into and stereo stolen out of it. there are only 3 washing machines in the basement, as well as 3 dryers. All cost a dollar, and the dryers are almost always broken. plan on spending at least 6 dollars every laundry day. The other tennants have no problems tossing your laundry on the floor if they are in a rush. Parking is terrible, people from across the street are always parking in our lot. Bums go dumpster diving in the dumpster all the time. Overall, everything about this apartment building SUCKS. I would not reccommend it to anyone.

you said youve been living there for a year and a half. If it is so terrible why would you renew your lease??

Here's another reason not to move here--my car was broken into, the window smashed, and the center console and stereo ripped from the dashboard IN THE APARTMENT BUILDING PARKING LOT.
