We've been living in these apartments for nearly 2 years. The only reason we picked these apartments was because they allowed pets. Little did we know they would charge nearly half a months rent in non refundable pet "deposits" for two cats. I have always thought deposits were refundable, and "charges" were not.
Rents are abismal when you take into account the level of service you receive from the office staff and the maintenance workers (save for a small handfull of workers who are actually helpful). During one "preventative extermination" session (AKA someone in the buildings was filthy and they were covering their rears), a worker from Nutmeg woods was to accompany a exterminator from a local chemical company. Arriving home that evening, we discovered our door, which we locked that morning prior to work, was UNLOCKED and our entire apartment was unprotected. When confronted with the issue, the office did not return our message, and when we contacted them on our own, they brushed the matter aside.
Heavens forbid you approach them with potential difficulties with your upcoming rent. They give until the tenth of each month to pay, badgering you on the 3rd to the 6th day with a "FRIENDLY REMINDER" that rent is due. If you take every step to at least pay part of the rent, they will still threaten eviction and slap a late fee onto your account, after mentioning they wouldn't if you at least paid half.
The one approachable member of the office left (Vanessa), leaving an office full of snotty, condesending and plain rude women who have no concept of customer service. Whether it is double charging your account via your bank card and accusing you of not having the funds for rent, or an endless stream of double talk, this staff, these apartments, are not worth the trouble they cause you.
