When I moved into this apartment I knew nobody in CT and a month later somebody broke into my apartment at 4am and attempted to rape me after he attacked me. I give them credit they did let me get out of my lease after I felt completly violated. But often keys were left in the door, mats would prop open the door etc. Look up the outstanding drug warrants most of them live in this complex.

This might have been true a few years back, but the complex is completely different. Anywhere you go your going to find drugs... they are everywhere, but i like it here. Its quite and close to work.

How is July 2007 a few years ago and the drug warrants that is current. It appears to be safe but it is not safe one bit. I am happy you are happy there. Perhaps it is different if you are not a SWF. I think I was the only SWF in the complex and a moving target. I spoke to a woman who still lives in the complex the other day and she told me that the maintenance guy walks into her apartment at his own volition. Tell me how has it changed?

Actually, it is risky living in complexes like Nutmegs. The main entrance is common, you cannot add any locks to your main door, or any door for that matter (like say a bolt) because they claim to inspect units time and again. And it is also true that the maintenance guy can just come in anytime. I called in a work order and specified dates and times we'd be home, and they came when we weren't. And anybody can just keep the main door open, even if it's not their main door, so long as they live in the complex too.
I am just thankful that we're going on 15 months living here and so far, we haven't had any untoward experience but that of the maintenance's entry in our absence.
