I have lived in Briarwood Hills for about 2 years. I lived in the large loft with the small room in back.
1st off, the apartments are near everything, 2 minutes either way to the Merritt Parkway & I-91 which makes it very ideal. Everything you need is no more than 5 minutes away - supermarket, banks, movies, Target, Home Depot, BJ's, fast food, liquor store across the street (say hi to George!). North Haven is also a great small, safe quiet town.
As for the complex itself, I didn't really have as many problems as people have said. I think some people just whine to much. I noticed that the people who whined about a lot of stuff got the worst service from the staff. Hmmm, go figure. We never complained about anything and the staff was always great to us. Toni always remembered our names and the maintenance staff would always say good morning or wave to us when we'd see them around. I must say, with the maintenance staff, it's hit and miss. When they replaced our windows, it took about 6 months to get our replacement blinds but when we had a problem with our AC, it was fixed the next day. Also, I don't know who's idea it was to replace the upstairs windows with ones that don't open but these apartments get very hot in the summer and now you have to use the AC all the time. They used to have windows that open upstairs so you could at least get a cross breeze, but not anymore. The grounds look decent, but they aren't really up kept as far as the plants, grass and trees but it's not bad at all. Having a pool in the summer, is a big plus. Also, some people have mentioned about mouse problems, what do you expect when it starts getting cold out and your pretty much surrounded with wooded area on 3 sides' It's going to happen no matter where you live if your in a wooded area. At least the management has tried to fix the problem with traps.
The parking is probably the one thing I really don't like about this place but it's not so much the complex's fault. People who live here and their friends are pretty inconsiderate about the parking. We've come home numerous times to people parking in our spot or blocking the entire side road to the front of the complex. We left a note on a car one time when it was in our spot, came home around 1am to find the note thrown on the ground and some idiot drunk college kid passed out in his car. My gf went off on him and I think it's safe to say he parks in visitor parking now. Also there is only 1 parking spot per apt. which kinda sucks since we have 2 cars, I park in empty apt.'s parking spots or in the Visitor parking which is a far walk from our apt. IF YOU LIVE IN THIS COMPLEX, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO USE THE ASSIGNED VISITOR PARKING.
The rent is a little high for the condition of these apartments, but it's pretty standard for the location. Our unit now is fine, but there seems to be a couple small leaks in our wall & ceiling which has browned some of the paint. There's also some cracks in the wall too but it's not really an issue with us. They just replaced all the roofs, windows and front porches in the complex too so the management has been active with taking care of the big issues so they get kudos from me on that. The duel washer/dryer in the units can only really hold 2-3 pieces so you can't wash all your clothes, you'll need to use the on site laundry. Again, more from the inconsiderate people in this complex. Many people here leave their clothes in the dryer for like 2 hours after their clothes are dry. Lately, it's been kinda bad when we go, almost all the dryers are used and there's a couple that are broken. I just take out peoples dry clothes if they are inconsiderate like that. Again, this isn't the complex's fault, it's the people who live here. If you live in this complex and your one of these people, COME GET YOUR F'IN CLOTHES WHEN THEY ARE DONE SO OTHERS CAN DO THEIR LAUNDRY!
All in all, we had a good experience here. The staff is friendly, it's quiet, and it's in a great location. That's all that really matters to us. We can deal with the little issues here and there & annoyances but some people can't. This place is perfect for us and we love the high ceilings and the lofts. That's one of the things that we really liked as there aren't too many places like these apartments. They are pretty unique. We would recommend these apartments to others.

I think you are not at all tenant of this property. I lived there for a year. I have faced maximum problems or can say all worst things have happend with us.Within 3 months we caught 9 mice. You are sayingabout wooden surrounding...show me any space where there is no wood.. But I can show you living spaces where there is wood but no mice. Specially in my room all the piping connection have hugh holes from where mice were coming inside. In my garden where wild plant bush was there was full of mice about which we have complained to u r socall good management but they never took actions on that. In rainy season we could enjoy waterfall inside our house. Even MCR property manager visited our house in july and assured us that issue will be resolved but there was no action till next year april. We already lost one television because of that leakage. About maintenance staff then let me tell u except Phill there is no one good to say even Hello. Talking about Brayan he never revert back , alwas left work incomplete. About tony I think she should take classes for communicating with people. Her body language is worst and same with Missy.
Still you wanna misguide other people then I cant help it . But If someone really want to see the real face of this apt then do let me know i have everything captured on my camera water fall, mice etc.
So Good luck & Happy Househunting.....

LOL sorry to burst your bubble guys, I lived there for 2 years, I'm not a manager, and didn't have many problems at all. The only reason I left is because I took a job in FL. Your all probably the jerks that left your clothes in the dryer.
