HORRIBLE !!! PLEASE READ Prior to considering this complex!!

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! 1 word to sum up the place is TRASHY!! I rented in 03' for 1 yr & decided to go back in 07' but sadly found out the hard way (& disreguarded the previous warnings & ratings on this site) the place has gone down hill TRAMENDOUSLY!!
We rented in 07' for 1 year & it was the worst mistake we EVER made!! We personally have seen the trashiness first hand - we've seen a tenant urinate from his loft apt down to the steps & door way of the tenant below him. & the office staff doesn't care about any of it - they just turned their head.
The security and over-all safty of the complex is horrible too. During that 1 yr we lived there we also had both of our brand new (30K) cars keyed to the metal costing us thousands in damage. We caught the trashy neighbor in the act keying the cars, filed police reports & filed a complaint with both the complex manager & leasing agent & both the manager & leasing aggent just turned their heads to everything that happened. They have complete disreguard and lack of any and ALL concerns for the tenants.
&& on 2 different occasions we came home to find the staff inside our apt WITHOUT any prior knowledge or phone call giving them permission to enter the apt! Imagine coming home to find a stranger in your apartment - once again the staff has a complete lack of concern for the tenants & their tenants sense of security & safety.
The place is a complete DUMP! The maintenance staff is horrible & don't have a clue what they're doing.... I completely support giving the elderly jobs but giving them the reins of the entire complex is obsurd. They have 2-3 older maintenance men & although they are very polite and friendly none of them are knowledgable on how to repair anything. AND if something in your apt does go wrong it takes them forever to respond to your phone call... the maintenance emergency number is pointless! When we called about a main pipe that burst (causing our ceiling to collapse), they said they couldn't do anything and they'd take a look at it the next morning!! We were forced to move out for 2 WEEKS!! (literly - the whole ceiling collapsed) the tenants above us had to move out also and we receied ZERO compensation!! When we returned we had servere water dammage & it made the place smell like a mildew filled basement. The pipe burst in July 07' & our apartment continued to smell right up until we moved out Feb 08'.
This year (Jan 08')the sewers overflowed into the property & LOWER LEVEL APTS!... & When it rains the entire complex smells like feces.
An apartment in North Haven for $800/month only sounds like a great deal. It trully was & still is a nightmare!! If after reading all this & you still are considering looking into Briarwood, Please re-think it! Sure it sounds like a cheap inexpensive rent in a nice area but also take into consideration EVERYTHING in the apt is electric. There was not 1 month during the late fall - early spring our electric bill was under $400/month.. most months we toppled to $500!!(no joke ask for records of past tenants) And our heat was only on for at most 3-4 hrs when we got home from work to warm the place up a little && then we bundled up to stay warm at night. The electric bill is outrageous... for that price you can easily afford moving into a better apartment!
Overall I would never recommend this complex to anyone. I guess we should have gone with our instinct on this one - if it's too good to be true it probably is.
There are soo many better apartments within the 10mile radius...I highly suggest looking into one of them.
