The management staff at Briarwood & the management company MCR are HORRIBLE! They neglect to return any phone calls once you move out reguarding your deposit & they refuse to do a walk-through with you. I've called both Briarwood & MCR on numerous occasions since we've moved out concerning our deposit with no response.

We initially scheduled a walk-through with Briawood - talked to them on 3 different occasions & the day before the walk-through I phoned them as a reminder to make sure the time to meet was ok.... Well she acted like she (she being the manager) had no-clue what I was talking about & claimed she had no knowledge of us moving out.

She claimed we never turned in our notice - Even though she told me word for word over the phone what to write!! && it was turned in the same day to the office! (30 prior to moving out)

They are now refusing to return any of our deposit ($1600!!). PLEASE save yourself the hasle of dealing with these incompetent people, DON'T RENT FROM BRIARWOOD! Talk about a shady company - I don't think it could get any worse than Briarwood. Their staff is rude, sneaky & shady.... Their management is rude, sneaky & shady.... the place is a dump.... there's bugs everywhere... they house some of the trashiest people.... Living here is a nightmare! && the nightmare continues even when you leave.

Briarwood is a far cry from a home ... never mind a lifestyle! Someone must have paid a hefty penny for it to state "we are southern Ct's premier apartment destination" - I think the numerous reviews should speak for themself .. Briarwood by NO MEANS is a "premier destination"!!
Clean, peaceful & comfortable''' FALSE, FALSE & FALSE. If your idea of clean is living in bug infested surroundings then by all means briarwood is your place...The bug infestation alone is enough to take away any thoughts of being peaceful & comfortable.

They can't keep tenants around longer than a year if they paid them... I can't imagine such a "well put together community" - like they claim to be... can actually be that good seeing how EVERY SINGLE day of the year they post signs at the entrance claiming to have an "OPEN HOUSE" - What well put together community has an open house everyday'''

Answer: One that is a nightmare to live in!! One that can't keep tenants. One that is dirty & dingy. One that is bug infested with broken leaky roofs, servere water damage, with molded ceilings & bricks, broken sewer systems that back up every time it rains with glorious feces smelling outdoors that run into the walkways & apts... hmmm but with all that briarwood claims to be ... WHO WOULDN'T WANNA LIVE THERE''

It's amazing this place hasn't been shut down && how sugarcoated Briarwood appears on other sites - where previous tenants can't voice the truth.Take it from previouse tenents that had to live through the nightmare, where this story for you was our reality - DON'T RENT HERE!
