First, I would like to say on a positive note, that Briarwood was convenient for commuting to work, close to everything else like shopping, the grounds were kept up well and I loved my deck off the living room.
Secondly, on a negative note, during the winter months, watch out for your electric bill. Totally outrageous!! I complained to management of the draft I felt in my apartment for THREE YEARS and nothing was done. I took it upon myself to cover both windows and patio door with insulation and I covered one of the heating/cooling units to help prevent the draft in my bedroom. I still had a problem. It felt like my apartment was above ground and the cold air came up from the floor. Cold feet all winter - it was terrible. I also experienced at three different times, water leakage in my bedroom, living room and kitchen behind the dishwasher. After I moved out, I noticed mold on the bedroom wall where the water leaked.
I also had a problem with the bugs as other tenants stated. I had to purchase a debugger every spring to keep them out but, the bugs still came in somehow and they didn't last long. I found so many of them dead.
I lived in the bottom unit and another problem was the poor flooring above. I experienced heavy foot traffic especially above my bedroom every week. Before the neighbor came home, I would try to rush to bed and go to sleep so I wouldn't hear the noise. At times, I thought the floor was going to cave in.
On a final note to the future tenants out there looking for an apartment, don't consider Briarwood Hill. Management just recently raised the rent and you will not get what you're looking for.
