Don't move there

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We lived in this place for a year, and honestly, it was terrible. Maintence never got out to fix what needed fixing. And the dark haired lady in the office is the rudest, crabbiest women I have ever met in my life. She also lied to use before we moved in, said we had a w/d in the unit, then said, "I'd never say that, it's not true!" I was needless to say, livid, as I now had not choice but to move in there. I was left without heat with an infant because it was a Sunday, and the maintance staff didn't feel it was cold enough to warrent calling a real person to come and fix it. They gave me a little tempurature thing and told me to call back if it got colder. I woke up the next morning with a 12 day old baby and a 54 degree apartment.. oh yeah, in November. They never actually fixed it, just jimmy rigged it (the heating guy said it's a really hold system and would cost a lot to actually fix the problem). I'm going to say it wasn't even fixed until Tuesday, and I only because I had to call back and say, hey, I still have a newborn in a house with no heat. They also tried to charge me over $500 to fix the garbage disposable, and we'd only lived there for a few months! We I asked to see the proof they they took out over "two pounds of spaghetti" the woman said, "We'll let it go this time." They also tried to charge us heat for a month we didn't live in the apartment! When we called to fix it (charging for Feb, we moved in in March) the woman told my husband, "Well if that's what the paper says, that's what you owe." We of course did not end up paying it, but it too a while to make the idiot realize what a stupid mistake it was. The parking situation is crap, and the office does nothing about someone being in your spot (in the build and apartment I was in this was a problem b/c neighbors had friends over all the time the 3 whole blank spaces shared between two entire buildings, as well as mine and my neighbor's spaces). I honestly could go on and on. I had no one single neighbor I spoke to who was happy with the property, and most of all Sherry. My one neighbor said her boyfriend refused to even talk to the woman anymore. And then there's the balcony that fell with a tenant ON IT, and we got absolutely no notification of it. My sister read about it in the paper, and called me telling me to stay off mine! It turned out mine wasn't a problem, but I think they could've sent around at least flyers explaining their situation. Oh, then there's the fire hazard that is the basement. I tripped several times, as did my husband, walking to the w/d area because they had screens and windows and such leaning against the walls in the area where my door was. Oh, and there's no unlocked exit from the basement. If there was a fire, you'd have to run back into your apartment, up the stairs, and out one of your doors. And the first night we lived their our key broke in the lock (which was never fixed and always stuck, often times I just couldn't get it to unlock, when we were told it'd be replaced), in the beginning of march, and we had to spent close to two hours waiting in our car for maintance to come let us in. It were also told the non-refundable pet deposit WAS refundable. It's just an all around crappy place to live.
