Something seems amiss.

Why is it that rights after a rash of negative comments, and I will say truthful as well, are posted, suddenly a bunch of fluffy happy posting are made here' Why would someone who is happy with Century Hills be on Apartmentratings.com if they were happy with the Hills to start with' Do these people seek out this website daily to combat negative press just to help the management or is it management helping them selves'
I have a very suspicious feeling that management is skewing the numbers on this sight by polishing their own brass or is it *ss' Trust me; believe the negative responses on here. Management is like the devil. Everything is happy and frilly until you sign the bottom line and then all of a sudden it's a Devil's contract. The electric bill they told you was an average of $50 to $60 a month is now a surprisingly $150 to $250 a month.
They tell you that they have a "courtesy guard" to protect the parking lot at night and that "they don't have anymore problems than any other apartment complex", but yet every person who has lived with me including myself has either had their car stolen, or broken into. Sadly, management does not care and even the Rocky Hill police department could give a damn. You see, us mere renters who pay ridiculous car taxes to live here are seen as a nuisance to even the town. The other laugh is the so called ?courtesy guard?. These people drive so slowly through the parking grounds with their lights flashing that they give any would-be car thief ample warning to run off into the bushes until they pass buy at 2 MPH. It really is ridiculous when you watch security that you can only laugh at how stupid they are.
Other things that you may want to ask management is about the convenient break-ins that happen (some keyed break-ins and some forced entry). It is obvious that either some internal hanky panky is going on with some employee(s) who have the keys to these apartments and that they love to take jewelry and money out because it is quick and untraceable. When you confront management they will merely imply that you committed the crime. I guess they have to cover their own *ss. Even the police don?t care. I am sure if you were the Mayor of the town then you would get results, but as a ?stupid and annoying? renter, we are viewed as the bottom fish in town even though we feed it millions a year in the money we spend locally and at the Hills.
If you move in here, put hidden cameras in your apartment and change the locks yourself and do not tell them. After all, a complete floor of apartments was broken into in 2003.
As far as luxury' I laugh. Park Place Towers in Hartford offers more luxury than Century Hills could even dream of. Capital Properties needs a lesson in what constitutes luxury. Certainly painting over the same old rust and making sure the flowers are kept bright and fresh is not my idea of luxury benefiting me.
You have to laugh when the manager, Patty C., goes out once or twice a year in her ?Martha Stewart? gardening outfit and decides to play I-am-going-to-bond-with-the-maintenance-staff-and-show-that and she starts planting and pruning the mums and posies. The most care she puts into the place is putting plastic over the fall Mums so they do not get frost bitten during the night.
If you want to know how bad the manager is hated because of her bitter attitude and uncaring manner, just ask the staff in private. In early 2004, the great one herself, Patty C., fell on the ice outside of her office and most of the staff was hoping she would leave or not come back.
Needless to say, their dreams were turned to nightmares when the wicked one came back from her hiatus.
So to sum it all up, you will be treated like a good slave if you never pipe up or complain or dare to confront management, but once you do, you have crossed over into the twilight zone of renting and will be subject to their wrath. They will suddenly not answer you or talk to you and merely tell you to deal with their attorney.
These people are quick to smile and get you to move in so they can fill quota but wait till you get your wonderful rental increase the next year. You certainly won't be smiling then! Instead you will be buying a Fleet enema to ease the impact of their financial blow.
The best day was when I moved, which was akin of the same feelings I felt when I got married, had a child, won a $5000 lottery and bought a house that allowed me to escape "Hillcatraz".
If you move in good luck, if you don?t than God bless because you really have saved yourself from the Devil?s style of management?Hell style!
Let us await the new puffs of happy people who will now conveniently rush to post frilly comments about this rusted out old dump of bricks held together with paint and posies.
