When friends come over and tell me the place I live in looks like Section 8 housing but with landscaping and flowers, then I know I am not the only one who thought the same thing when I came here.

I have read some of the reviews and it does amaze me how after many negative reviews there is someone posting happy go lucky reviews, or even reviews trying to combat the negative reviews.

It seems odd that a real tenant or past tenant would do this since there would be no reason for them to take the time out to care about what others have said unless they are being urged by management or truly feel they need to come to the aid of Century Hills and try to rag on other people's experiences.

I had to laugh at the review just 1 to 3 reviews below me where the person felt she was compensated in some form for a rental increase. Management merely hangs out these "carrots" when you complain about your rental increase: ie; a paint job, a rug cleaning, a new linoleum floor, etc. They know these items are inexpensive since they have their maintenance staff do the task or they oursource the task to some company which they have a set price in place to do the job.

Granted, some of the reviews on here are dicey, but for the most part I have to agree with many of the negative points people bring up about management and their lackluster and bitter treatment towards you if you try and push an issue or complain. Once I moved in and got to know a couple of my neighbors, I never heard anything positive about management and everyone seems to hate them because of their attitude.

As far as the person who mentioned how lovely it was that management put in 5 new flat screen televisions...whoopty doo! How does that benefit you' All it does is benefit management so they can sit in the so called clubhouse to eat lunch and watch their favorite channel on a new screen. Guess who paid for all 5 of those televisions that you get very little use out of' We all did with our rent!

The only reason I originally chose to live here was because of the convenience to the highways, somehow, that car theives like that arrangement too! My apartment is OK, but the kitchen is very small for a 2 bedroom unit; I find sand on my bedspread from the cracks in the weird ceiling that must have sand in them. As the caulking cracks I end up with more grains of sand on my bed. It's very strange.

I have had my car broken into and so has my neighbor. When I have guests over, I now have them park in the Marriott parking lot and I drive them to Century Hills because I would be embarrassed if their car got stolen or broken into. The Rocky Hill police are useless and so is management.

I do not see anything that denotes LUXURY here other than the well polished CLUBHOUSE that management resides in. It is also the first point of contact which prospective tenants see, so of course they make it look like a sparkling jewel.

Once I moved in, the sparkles turned to rust. I have a leaky air conditioning system; a railing on my balcony that if a pigeon lands on it the wrong way, I am afraid it will topple over; outrageous electric bills that are higher than my parent's bill, and they have a similar sized condo with electric heat and their bill is 30 to 40 percent lower than mine. This place was built in the 70's and more than likely has poor insulation or I am unknowingly paying for the lights outside of my apartment in the hallway.

Do not be fooled by this place. If you want to see luxury then go see Waterford Commons in Manchester or any of the modern and new places you can find in the "Apartment Guide" at any local Blockbuster.

I am leaving at the end of the year and cannot wait to leave. I used this site to do my research this time and even confronted various places I looked at about the reviews about their complex. If you read the reviews you will see common elements that people talk about regardless of their tone or sarcasm in the review. When I confronted various places I looked at about the points I discovered under their reviews I would often see their faces turn another color and then try to dig out from my concerns. Those places that had nothing to hide often had a very high rating on this site and did not have to think of some excuse to or combat by concerns.

I found a place that IS luxury and puts Century Hills to shame for even calling itself luxury. The place even has good ratings on this website.

Best of luck to those that move in here. Hopefully you will have a better experience and if you are real lucky maybe Century Hills will be sold to a management company that likes people AFTER they have signed the lease.

And whoever 'mamapresh' is, keep up the good work, you seem to have some people rattled on here and I think it's great! I also agree with you that I think management is reviewing themselves on here!

youre right... car thieves are definately here regularly. a neighbor had their stereo stolen then a few months later, so did my girlfriend's!!! The Police officer said the security here is just a joke, and that the police patrol more than the security car, which is actually right! i see that car on the other side of rocky hill sometimes, completely away from here late at night. lately they have been patrolling more, maybe they switched security or something... i dont know
