I moved to Elms Common in 1981, when it was a brand new complex. In 25 years of residence I saw a lot of people, both tenants and management, come and go, but some things are constant.
People who comply with the basic expectations of good tenancy outlined in the lease rarely have any interaction with management at all. However, those who violate the rules will always complain about management. If you fail to pay your rent, annoy your neighbors with raucous music, or allow your pets to roam the halls, you can expect management to take notice. I always appreciated knowing that this was the case. Management styles have changed over the years with personnel, but the norm has always been friendliness and an awareness that Elms Common is a place where a large number of tenants stay for many years.
The overall maintenance is outstanding compared to other places, including the place where I currently reside. I never once called to report a problem without having that problem attended to that very day. The grounds are always well-kept, and visitors often commented to me about how nice the place always looked.
P.S. I miss the carports! Not having to scrape one's windshield in the morning is not to be taken lightly!

You're a Dumb ---. You could have bought and owned a house after 25 years at $1000.00 per month payments.
