I read reviews in this website in May 2006 and chose to live in Stepny place.
I am happy that i chose the right place.

I stayed in Stepny place for about 14 months.
I had to move out because of a job change.
I enjoyed staying in stepny place and it was such a nice place to live in.
I had my job in Hartford downtown. The reasons for choosing to stay in Stepny place were many. -

* I was considering taking an apartment in Manchester.
Pavilion, aspen woods were very costly. And their 6 month lease is more expensive by 200-300$.Stepny place was well within my budget.
Century hills was huge and I read reviews that maintenance was an issue.
True to my predictions, Stepny place was cheap- gas was taken care of in the rent.
The six month lease in Stepny place was costlier by only 50$

I am completely happy that i stayed in the right place.

* Apartments in middletown were like ghost houses. I could not imagine my wife staying all alone there in the nights if it gets late for me to return from work.

* If you choose to stay south of downtown, u can either choose the I-91 or have a local route(Silas Dean Hwy) to reach home.

* There were elevators - which helped moving things easily. (The Mayflower guys didnot charge me anything extra for the 4th floor)

* The administrative staff (Adrian, Theresa, Camie - earlier Chris) are too good.
I have never seen them rude. The maintenace requests/work orders were taken care of immediately.

* I know 2 to 3 families who moved out of Stepny place (because of a job change) and then after a few months had to move back again to CT. They preferred to come back to Stepny place. \That speaks a lot abt how much the residents loved the place.

* Ritas was right across the street. major grocers were nearby(big y and stop and shop). Asia grocers are at a bit distant

* Tennis court, swimming pool were added luxuries. Tennis court used to flooded with poepl at all times, but still you can see from your apartment if someone is playing or not and then go down. The current apartment in VA where Iam now, I need to drive down a mile and then wait there for a minimm of 45 minutes to play.

* Priya Indian cuisine is next door. You can prefer to take a life membership with Priya. I really miss the taste of food.

Overall It was such a nice experienc in our lives and I will remember that fondly.
