We have looked at all the over Avalon properties in Stamford and it's surrounding area, and Harbor is really the best compared to the others. Not just is there the beauty of the harbor right next door, but it has also been maintained better than the other communities.

Dominick, Raquel and Jason at the leasing office have always been very courteous to us, and the concierge desk is always professionally staffed at all hours. Deliveries are made on time, maintenance issues at our apartment have been handled pretty quickly, though others that we talk to who live at Harbor have had complaints.

It is relatively less noisy than other Avalon communities, and really maintaining the inside of your apartment is up to you the renter. Some families we know have really trashed their apartments and we wouldn't want to live in those, but our one bedroom with loft is impecabbly clean and roomy enough for us. The smell of trash is at times a bit overwhleming, esp if you live right next to the trash room like we do.

This is one of two negatives for us, as the maintenance crew take the trash out using the regular elevators without covering it and then that elevator stinks to the sky.

The other negative for us is our neighbors in front of us and next to us both do not like children and we have a toddler who is just beginning to learn the importance of being a gorilla.

On the plus side though, we have met people from our Ivy League who also live here, and made new friends.

So it has plusses and minuses, and we will miss it when we leave - esp our loft! Mrs & Mrs Ahmed.
