After two years of living at the Avalon at Bedford, now "Cornerstone at Bedford", I saw a lot of bad reviews here at Apt. Ratings.com. I lived at the Cornerstone for two years until I purchased a home in Stamford and all-in-all, found it a pleasant place to live. The grounds were nice, it was very convenient to my work, and also convenient to I-95, the Merritt, and the train station. My rent was competitively priced. When I rented, CaB only required a $1000 security deposit vice 2 months rent like a lot of landlords. Over the time I lived at CaB, most of the staff was friendly and responsive. The maintenance manager was always kind, asked after my apartment and responded to items breaking very quickly. During my stay it was rare that I saw any bugs and it's a 40 year old building. I did have a mouse problem and it was fixed. I enjoyed the spacious grounds, trees, pool, etc.

Although I actually expected more of a fight (experience from a previous landlord) I got my security deposit back less than a month after the lease expired w/ no unexpected holdbacks. I was even forgiven the late fee the one time I was late with the rent.

Negatives: Not a lot of parking. Probably nothing the management can do short of building a parking garage, but if there's more than one car, someone will have to park on the street. As I was leaving, the common areas were being re-done, but over the two years they needed work. My only real complaint was the washers and dryers. They are contracted out to CoinMach and were replaced during my stay. The new ones had a really bad habit of eating money from the smart cards and then not working. They also were too frequently broken for such new machines.

u must work there or are a really nice & easy going person to think that roach infested, mice/rat infested, place was a good apt to live in.....there are plenty of places w/ updated common areas, nice grounds, etc.....W/O the insects & rodents & rude staff
