The Cornerstone at Bedford is not a luxury apartment. I make little apologies to guests as we're riding up in the world's slowest elevator. But, at the end of the day, it has been perfect for my two cousins and I. The three of us are recently out of college and wanted a cheap place to live fairly close to night life.

A month of so after I moved in they started replacing the elevators. This has continued from August until now (december) with no visible progress.

The hallways are kind of dim. The washers and dryers are on each floor and rarely in use and so you can do a bunch of loads using multiple floors if you're so inclined. The only downside is that laundry shuts off at 10 pm and so if you work late you'll have to do it on weekends.

You can't control the heat and so it gets pretty hot and I often have the balcony slider cracked open to get some fresh air. The upside is that you don't have to pay for the heat.

You'll definitely want to get a parking space in the garage because the lot fills up and has very compact spaces. The garage costs $85 a month, but for me it is worth it to always have an assigned spot and not have to worry about dings or shoveling snow.

This building has been a great experience and although it is dumpy it's still nicer than the college house I lived off-campus in last year. I feel safe, have had positive interactions with the management, and the maintenance people always say Hi to me.
