As a resident for almost 4 years, here are the negatives & positives of living here:
Site Plan & info.:
Two buildings - eleven-story high rises that face each other, forming a U-shape.
This is a condo community; however, many owners rent out there apts. and there are many renters in the complex, of which I am one.
These "condos" are really apartment set ups.

Positive Aspects:
-Located in a decent area of Stamford, next to Stamford High School, across the street from a bus stop, close to the center of the city.
-Maintenance staff is friendly, responsive and knowledgeable.
-In terms of Stamford rental rates and purchase prices in comparable neighborhoods, these units are reasonably priced.
-Complex has a pool.
-Property Mgr. (Keith) is accommodating and responsive.

Negative Aspects:
-Because of the layout of the buildings (i.e., site plan described above), they act as an extreme echo chamber and you can hear every noise ampliphied, no matter what floor you live on. Noise levels inside and outside are extreme.
-Individual parking spaces are extremely narrow, often resulting in scrapes and dings from the neighboring cars.
-The lower lot parking forces those people parked in that lot to walk a long & steep hill, and then a few hundred yards to the complex.
-Plumbing problems are common due to age of buildings (about 40 years old).
-Condition of units vary, depending on if the owner has updated it or not.
-Except for the end units, balconies are not private and this makes for more noise issues and an annoying lack of privacy.
-Fire alarms do not operate properly and they go off very frequently - sometimes more than once a day and often for 15 or 20 minutes at a time without stopping, which results in extreme noise and a visit by several fire trucks.
-Because the complex is old, unit remodeling and general building repairs are constant, which creates extreme noise almost all year long.
-In the past six months, there have been 3 separate vandalism incidents to many residents' cars. Although, I should repeat here that this is a nice and normally very safe neighborhood.
-Elevators are updated, but they still have problems.
-The Property Mgr. is accommodating; however, his office secretary who answers all calls is not helpful, often rude, and has a serious attitude problem.

I've listed above all aspects that are applicable to ALL Residents and are not just issues specific to my unit.
