Not so Great

As this is a Co-op the number of renters is minimal compaired to the number of owners. Renters in general aren't given as nice treatment and parking is a horror, especially if you rent with roommates/family members. Renters are guaranteed one spot...usually in the way back part of the lot and get to enjoy a long walk up a very steep hill. If you have other cars you have to find street parking, which is basically impossible especially during the fall and winter. Unit condition varies greatly but both buildings are very old and common areas need some serious updating. I would highly recommend trying to get a corner unit due to a better balcony. Elevators are terribly slow and small so there is always a wait. Moving in is hard as there is no freight elevator and you are only allowed to move in on the weekends. Office hours do not accomodate those that work anywhere near a 9-5 job and the staff is very rude. Pool is ok but you have to pay extra to use it. Noise isn't horrible except outside noise from the Stamford High Football games and early morning sports practice. I should also mention the early morning marching band practice every weekend. This is miserable.

At any rate, this place is livable. But I am sure you could find better.

I am an owner of a unit in building 71. First of all, this building is condo, not co-op. There is a big difference. Second, you are only allowed to move during the week m-f, not on the weekends. Yes, there is noise from the football games and the marching band practices loudly, but, what do you expect living next to a high school? Crickets? If you are one to complain about every detail then don't move here. We don't want to hear it. By the way, this summer the pool is free. This is a great place for a first home purchase if you want to get out of renting.
