I am glad that you have had a good experience. I am a down-to-earth person, and definitely not negative- but broke my lease bc the management was so terrible. (Which not all people can afford to do unfortunately.) It is simply not true that the only way roaches enter your apartment are via the tenant...If the building is infested, and it is not taken care of properly then they spread very rapidly. Even if one person brought them in...many of innocent tenants can be effected if left untreated. I am an easy going person, and tried to overlook the roaches, the fact that the heat completely shut down for days at a time in the dead of winter, and not being able to use my shower for a week bc the ceiling to the tenant below me crumbled down on them while I was taking a bath. (All my water rushed into their bathroom- thank God I didn't fall through.) These are things I think can happen when you rent. What I believe is atrocious it the complete and total lack of respect, sympathy, or professionalism this management has. And it seems to be a common complaint. Maybe you have been lucky enough not to have a major issue that needed quick resolution. Unfortunately I had three back to back, and really needed their help. As polite as I was- they behaved as though it was a burden. And when I got frustrated (as anyone would in freezing cold for 48 hours and being told they weren't SURE when they problem would be solved) they get down right nasty. Since I pay close to 2,000/mo for my rent- I do not think that the HEAT which is part of my hard earned money should shut down in the dead of winter for days at a time. And if it does- just a little compassion would have gone a VERY long way...instead, it was taken very casually- and ultimately they got angry that I was calling to check up when the situation was not fixed as promised' Any other landlord I ever had in the past would have been embarrassed. They tried their best to actually insinuate I was the problem. Stating they hadn't received other complaints so they really didn't know what the big deal was. (That was a flat out lie as my neighbor who was also freezing was standing with me asking if I had called yet bc she wasn't having any success.) Finally, I gave up and left. So, again- I am VERY happy that you have had such a good experience. But please don't put down those who have not. Trust me, moving was the LAST thing I needed...it was a total hassle. But after 5 months of dealing with them, I knew I just wasn't dealing with a professional group of people and decided to save myself the headaches!
