Not at all livable

Never ever consider this place. Absolute nightmare! I have genuine reasons as follows:

1. First of all, the worst leasing representatives who have no courtesy and capable of misguiding to the worst. I was moving from California to here and was totally cheated.

First thing I found was that the apartments are not carpeted. When I asked about carpeting in the apartment, the representative said our apartments have no carpets as carpet can easily be damaged by residents and subjected to huge fines deducted from security deposits. That is a good point and I felt happy! But the consequence is realized later. You may not focus on pt. 28/29 in the lease agreement form stating that you agree to furinsh the apartment with area rugs or carpeting within 30 day after ....

This is such an important point, and must be cited as one of the first points in bold letters, and also told verbally especially to people whose native language is not the English. You sign the lease unknowingly about this point. There is reason here. The representative sits on your back saying that this is a standard agreement, just sign it. Even then you may scan the paper, rather than the points like above.

Later you understand that the apartments produce enormous noise due to its iron /whatever roofing and wooden flooring over it. Your ground floor residents will be on your neck. You receive notice after notice from the leasing office.

As a civil engineer I can state something here. The fact is that an apartment building like these capable of producing excessive noice level can not just have wooden flooring when leasing to tenents. Obviously the town planning department has not done enough researh on the noise level in these apartments. To scientifically put it, the floor works like a speaker drum, amplifying even a pen drop equivalent to droping a stone.

It is the obligation of the owener to carpet apartments before leasing (with whatever suitable rent for him), rather than making tenents to sign the lease unknowingly about the facts, and become a source of conflict between tenents. It is the leagal obligation of the building owner to carpet the floor with such noise producing roofs, rather than asking the tenents to do that! Can a tenent consider apartments like this that require to spend $1500 to $2000 to carpet the rented apartment' If the tenent considered it, there is a reason. He must have been concealed the facts. So many noise based complaints and conflicts between tenents in every building here!

If we examine the issue on leagal front, the building lender is totally responsible to create conflict between tenents with his poor roofing/construction of the buildings. So it is his responsibility to carpet floors before leasing.

2. Parking is a total nightmare. Often the representatives say we have ample car parking here, also we are working currently to allot parking spaces to each of the apartments, which is another degree of cheating. I got this message when I was just moving, and done nothing so far even after one year.

3. Home for house centepedes; so many of them. You will enjoy if you are a biologist:-)
I dont know why the Stamford building code or town planning department is not focusing to control the living standards in these buildings, and control them to rent the apartments.

And many more regrets...

Only good thing is apartment is fairly spacious.
