A Year in Hell

First, the Positives:
- Location
- Size of Apts is large
Ok..now, for the rest of it:
- Landlord is EXTREMELY stingy with the heat in face of rising utility/energy costs. Budget at least an extra $100 a month to buy space heaters and use them (electric cost can be high with them). Ceebraid-Signal keeps the temp BARELY above the legal limit. I've never been so uncomfortable in winter.
- Parking spots are small and hard to get into. What should be parking for 2 cars is painted for 3. On top of that, parking rates rise every year and it's not included in the rent. To top it all off, they don't tow anyone who's parked in your spot, so even if you pay, you may have to park outside.
- Walls are paper thin. I know every time my neighbor gets laid.
- Building is falling apart and maintenance people are divas. Good luck getting something fixed in an emergency.
- Building is old and shabby. Appliances are mostly old and in poor shape and the combo laundry units in some of the larger apts don't work. They are only capable of washing maybe a towel and a shirt in a single cycle. My first night in the middle of summer, none of the air conditioning units in my apt were working.
- Equipment in gym is often broken or awaiting repair.
- Only a handful of washer/dryer units in laundry for such a large building.
- Elevators are broken very often and slow.
- Water pressure on higher floors can be a problem.
- Building's age means common fixtures fall apart (toilet broke at least a few times). I'm getting pretty good at fixing it since management has too much of a lag time...that is when they bother to show up and not leave a cryptic note that only says "OK" on it.
....I really hope you get the picture. Ceebraid-Signal is the worst management company I have thus far encountered in my 11 years of renting. They don't care about their tenants and they take every opportunity to show it.

Ditto! I moved in and everyone was so nice. Then the problems started. Not to mention the rent is crazy with no amenities, HEAT and HOT water is. For the money not worth it, they look nice, but the rent is way out of wack for what you get. I am def. moving when the lease is up.
